Cultural Regional Exchange and Learning Programs
We promote regional cultural exchange programs for individuals to participate and experience traditional African ceremonies and rights of passage every year.
There are currently trips only to Swaziland.
- Umhlanga Ceremony (in September every year). For more information on the ceremony, click here.
- Incwala Ceremony (for Men); For more information please click here.
The main goals of the program are to:
- Demystify the cultural meaning and relevance of these events. Many people see these events as barbaric or backwards, without understanding the historic and meaningful relevance of these events
- We see these events and rights of passage as important platforms for promoting change e.g. HIV/AIDS prevention communication messages
- To expose the beauty of our culture
