Economic Development and Poverty Eradication
Economic Development and Poverty Eradication
“Poverty is the worst form of violence. - Mahatma Ghandi
Statistics
- 1.2 billion people globally still live on less than US$1 a day.
- Just under half of Sub-Saharan Africa’s population – some 313 million people – survive on less than $1 day.
- 0.7 % of gross national income (GNI) contribution promised by developed countries has not been met/pledged. Only 5 countries — Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden — have met the United Nations aid target.

- Support the implementation of Microfinance projects, especially geared for Women and Youth
- Supporting unemployed graduates in South Africa, though our international outbound programs, to gain internships and job working opportunities in North America
- Supporting business plan writing and various entrepreneurship management skills building workshops for cultural leaders
- Supporting cultural industries
- Protecting Intellectual property rights of indigenous products that are otherwise abused
- Support programs that open up new markets for African products in the international market. Access to international markets is a huge impediment to development.
