Statistics
- Over 30% of women in Africa do not have access to economic and political opportunities in their countries. Few countries, including countries like South Africa, are women over 40% in government seats or positions.
- 80 % of refugees in Africa are women and children.
- More than half a million women die in pregnancy and childbirth in developing countries every year - that’s one death every minute. In many parts of Africa, maternal mortality rates are 1 in 16.
