Statistics

  • Only one in four young people (22% of young women, 26% of young men) is enrolled in secondary school in sub-Saharan African.
  • Unemployment rates in South Africa are as high as 39% and mostly affected are the youth.
  • Up to 6,000 young people become infected with HIV daily.
  • Over 2 million children have been killed and another 6 million more left disabled as a result of wars in Africa and around the world during the last decade.
  • Due to HIV/AIDS, 12 million children have been orphaned by AIDS since 2001

Ubuntu Programs

  • Engage Youth on importance of culture and heritage; for identity development. Programs run through workshop and leadership conferences
  • Provide training in Values Based Leadership
  • Encourage and support youth to participate in cultural events
  • Support with job and internship opportunities for unemployed graduates
